Creating An Internet Update File
Creating an Internet Update file is easy. You can include as much or as little information as you want about each wine.

Before creating a file, gather your product information together. The more information you have the better (e.g. tasting notes, ratings from wine magazines or wine guides, food matches, etc.).

If you will be hosting the Internet Update file on your own web site, ensure you have the logon name and password for FTP.

1. Download Wine Cellar II
Download the demontration version of Wine Cellar II and install this on your PC.

2. Load Wine Details
Start Wine Cellar II and add the wine details:
a. Select New from the Wine menu (or press Ctrl+N) to create each wine.
b. Enter the variety, brand, region, vintage and a purchase quantity of zero.
c. Click OK.
d. Add as much other information as you like: retail price, standard bottle size, best drinking years, score, quality rating, food matches, bar code, organic indicator, tasting notes.
e. Click OK.

Each tasting note has a date and an author. You can add new tasting notes for each wine at any time in the future.

We recommend you include previous vintages of wines - even those no longer available for sale - so that owners of these wines can see the tasting notes and recommended cellaring times.

3. Export To An Internet Update File
To create the Internet Update file:
a. Select Export from the Tools menu.
b. Select Internet Update and click Next.
c. Select your winery from the list and click Finished.
d. Give your Internet Update file an appropriate name (e.g. your winery name).

4a. Transfer The File To Your Web Site
If you do not have a web site or would like us to host the file on our web site, go to step 4b.

Use the file transfer utility FTP to transfer the file to your web site (Your ISP should provide instructions on how to do this). Use the Binary transfer mode (rather than ASCII).

Send an e-mail to internetupdates@winecellarsoftware.com telling us the name of the file and it's location on the Internet. We will set the file's location in the winery master list, making it available to all Wine Cellar II users.

4b. Or E-Mail The File To Us For Free Hosting
If you do not have a web site or would like us to host the Internet Update file for you, e-mail it as an attachment to internetupdates@winecellarsoftware.com.
